Christey Johansson is a freelance illustrator, who trained as an artist, completing a Bachelor in Visual Arts. She majored in installation, & also studied various medium based electives such as print making, digital art, painting and drawing. She spent several years in London, where she worked as a freelance designer for such companies as DK Travel, an imprint of the Penguin Group. She, and business partner Marcus Piper, created one8one7, a collaborative creative studio, specialising in editorial art direction, graphic design and illustration, and branding work for clients within the creative industry, including product design, art and photography.
